Driven by the love for the Salmon Nation, Mason started Azure Ocean as a festival food booth and food cart in 2005 with the dream of following in the footsteps of his mentors and joining the fair family with his own booth.
In 2009 (the rain year), Azure Ocean was granted a location as a roving vendor on Strawberry Lane. After a few years near The Ritz, Azure Ocean was re-birthed with an expanded menu in Bangkok Grill’s old space on Shady Lane. The new menu featured not only the smoked salmon spread on bagels with cucumber salad but the very same Killa Dillas that had become a late-night staple of the Eugene food scene in 2006 and 2007.
The Killa Dillas showcase sustainably harvested seafood, including Sacred Sea Albacore Tuna from the family fishing boat. With shredded cabbage, marinated red onion, secret tangy dressing, melted mozzarella, and your choice of protein (veg and vegan options always available) in a walkable and delicious vessel, Killa Dillas are a festival favorite.
