I am an artist, author and artisan living in Elmira, Oregon. While I enjoy making utilitarian artful objects such as the “Gabbiano Leather” goods produced since 1994 and focused for many years on writing my memoir, Love in the Elephant Tent, my current passion is painting with watercolors and acrylics.
I use traditional brush-painting with watercolor and acrylics to create figurative, abstract and functional art. With the acrylics, I also add mediums, additives and heat applied with a variety of methods to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Traditional watercolor paper or stretched canvas are great substrates, but I also like to repurpose wooden and ceramic objects or paint loose canvas sheets to create book covers, patches and flags.
